Class outing cum competition.After school today, some people stayed back in class to engage in some 'fun' activities.
So anyway,being the ever so patriotic citizen i am,i decided to embark on a odyessey of singapore's rich culture and diverse heritage by reading through the Social Studies TextBook. However i found some very peculiar pictures in that sacred manual. Exhibit A  Its apparent a picture of the foods of the various races,as shown by the words in the picture.But i only see the picture of malay food(mee siam and the kueh) and indian food(the curry and the banana leaf dish) but theres like no chinese food anywhere.However there is a bowl of a mixture of raw tomatoes,crabsticks and boiled egg white.This is so not chinese food la.How unthoughtful!If the author meant it that way,he should go and shoot himself.And isnt like eurasian also one of the official races in singapore or something,so where is like the eurasian dishes.And there is seriously such a thing in the world called eurasian cuisine and its not a figment of your wildest imagination. Have you ever wondered why all the children here are like chinese? Its easy to guess which this country is.But not by the kimono worn by the banner-bearer.I mean which country other country would have so many girls wearing white nurse uniforms? (points to background)So anyway,i was watching channel 5 again(damn,no cable) and there was this "calefare" and "first class" commercial that was being aired. These 2 "comedies" are so boring,not funny and retarded. Lets look at Calefare.Gurmit singh apparently lost his touch after 2 or 3 years if absence from comedy shows since PCK.And Fiona Xie really cannot act.Yes,she very chio etc,but shes like a vase lah.The malay woman is very boring and that 'handsome' (yes,that is apparently his name or something" is not funnier than an ah beng.Only the indian guy is funny.Just looking at him makes me like laugh. And the first class is worse. The adult actors are okay lah,especially the indian discipline master who looks very funny.The thing that spoils it all are the children cast. Apparently the protanganist of the show are a malay dude,a fucking not funny and retarded bimbo wannabe,Pudge,a shemale and a chao ah beng who love the construct his sentences with so called "grandiloquent" words.But actually,even the 联合早报 uses better english then him.And in spite of that,he has to translate his previous statements into simpler english for his companions to comprehend. But the worst is still the retarded bimbo.The person acting as the bimbo really sibeh jia lat sia.Unlike Fiona xie,who is hot but cant act,this person cannot do both.And shes lame,retarded,has a 欠打 face and very annoying and fake.She makes jessica simpson look like a scientist in nuclear physics. Have you ever wondered that winners and participants of singing talent shows always seem to swap channels? Those singapore idol people always seem to mysteriously appear in Kids Central as some retarded show host and those 1 minute of fame people always go to channel 5 to spoil shows. The little girl should like stop cos her 1 minute is over. These 2 shows are like so horrible and so unfunny that they make "Today in Parliament" look like a comedy. though there are some super funny comedies on local channels. The best is Crime watch. I dunno why but everytime i watch it,the re enactments always crack me up. Its like they show this young man who hailed a taxi to bring him to eunos cresent.When the taxi arrives at its destination,the young man suddenly robs the taxi driver with his G2 PEN. its so super funny la. And there was also this episode where there was these bunch of youths who were chasing a snatch thief around Ang Moh Kio.Then suddenly the thief whips out a parang and starts displaying his 武功 exactly like how those old folks do taichi in thomson Community centre. And miraculously,the theif managed to stab one of the youths in the neck.And the youth who got stabbed can somemore confront the thief somemore.Then the robber run across the road and is suddenly ambushed by a indonesian scholar.Indonesians are very good at hiding sia.Look at Mas selamat sia,sibeh tok kong.So anyway the heavily armed thief flails his parang at the scholar and i dunno wad happened but the scholar managed to subdue the heavily armed thief.How interesting! And at the interregation room,the same thing happens over and over again that i can like even remember their dialogue. Police Officer:"What were you doing on monday,the 5th of January at 3 pm?!?!" The suspect looks at the floor with guilt. Police Officer:"Tell the truth!Sim Soon Huat!" And the suspect really go and confess!This is like the most guai thief i ever say.Usually in HongKong,the suspect will say "ah sir..." and defend himself with a stagnant defiance but this guy actually cracked when the officer just asked him once.Our citizens,even those rogues and evil thieves, are so honest and so guai!Looks like our students are taking their 好公民 lessons very seriously!Got theives that are so guai,no wonder our police force so efficient lah. wah lau eh.This Crime watch is so funny,entertaining and yet teaches us about preventing crime,wad a good show right?Kudos to the guy who created it man.I wonder why the show never kenna nominated for Star awards sia. I really think that NTUC is out to cheat people's money.Recently,the NTUC Fairprice(please dont make me laugh) apparently upgraded itself into a NTUC Finest,which allegedly sells the creme de la creme of gourmet food. But in reality.they just want to use that upgrade and inflation as an excuse to increase price and the burden of the shoppers. The management cleverly took away all those low grade stuff and put in the stuff that is found in Cold Storage and proclaim that they are now merchants of high class foodstuff. But if thats the case,why is there still shelves over shelves of "The Pasar" and "NTUC" branded food stuff there? How contradictory! LOST at 5:03 PM Wednesday, September 24, 2008
The other day,i was watching the 9pm news on channel 5 when one of the hot topics that were reported was about the china milk scandal.Apparently,traces of amounts of menaline,which is responsible for the colour of your skin i think, in milk products from chinese factories,and that prompted the singaporean goverment and AVA to suspend some chinese dairy products like ice creams.So anyway,one field reporter interviewed an ice cream man who was operating in the vicinity of the NLB library in Toa Payoh about the effects of the suspension on his business and the poor man was crying his heart out about the difficulties in finding business and the loss he was making. Then the reporter went to interview one of the ice cream man's customers : an ijtp girl. Reporter:Have you heard about the chinese milk scandal and the suspension? IJ girl:Yes. Reporter:Then why are you still eating ice cream?Are you not afraid? IJ girl:I'm not scared because i do not eat ice cream which contains milk as a component. Reporter:Then what is the ice cream you are eating now made of? IJ girl:Oh!Its made of blue berries.... I dont know whether to laugh or to cry. LOST at 9:32 PM |
